The Tops of the Mountains

“And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen”. (Genesis 8:5)
I don’t know but I got a feeling that 2011 is going to be a pivotal year for the Body of Christ in general and me personally. More than a feeling, can I say, a “knowing” in my knower. Now I am not one that believes in New Year resolutions or that at the beginning of a new year anything or everything necessarily begins anew, with exception just to the calendar, but sitting here now in late November 2010 I sense a knowing that I haven’t sensed in a past few years.
Personally, before 2011 I have aged another year, just 1 year over the “big 50”. Economically, my family and I are “making” it but really there is nothing we can do, or even desire to do, that would amount to what some might call excessive or extra as following the upcoming holidays from the “traditional” standpoint. Spiritually, thus far 2010 has been slow, quiet, unremarkable and bordering on boring.
So what or why the feeling about 2011? Well looking at what the above Scripture says I can see the waters decreasing continually. Here of course Moses is relating to us the events of Noah’s Flood. The ark had come to rest after many days on land, on the mountains of Ararat in the 7th month. The Flood was a severe judgment on the human race and the earth because of the wickedness of man. The judgments of God are “wonderful”, “awesome”, total, terrible and yet merciful, loving, cleansing. The human race had been judged because of sin and iniquity but God had been merciful to 8 souls and by that mercy they could restart the race.
I sense that for the Body of Christ, for me and for many others in 2011. It will be a “restart” a “reboot” after a judgment because of sin. Confession time… I haven’t always been perfect, mature, listening, wise, loving, faithful, or spiritual. 2009/2010 saw me (I know everybody can’t say this) imperfect, childish, spiritually deaf and dumb, stupid, dense, hateful, angry, doubting and fleshly. The Lord executed judgment because of my sin; I lost family, friends and loved ones, missed opportunities, fell short of goals, dreams became nightmares, hard times, hard heart, and a very hard head…judgment!
But God has been merciful and faithful! Wow, just like in the Flood! He by His grace, mercy and wise counsel saved in me a flash of hope, a spark of faith, a word, a covenant promise so that now after these many months I have came to rest and now as the waters of the judgment are decreasing I can see the tops of the mountains of those words of prophecy and promise…just over there…in 2011.
Since I can see now a little farther and sense my spiritual muscles flexing again I am preparing myself and positioning myself, not to climb the mountain, for as the ark did, I have came to rest on top of the mountain, but to descend the mountain with a fresh anointing, with new eyes that can see, with new ears that can hear, and with new spirit that is ablaze with the same powerful life changing message! The message/word doesn’t change…my view into it, my response to it, and my walking it out does!
2011…what do I see? Well ageing again, times of struggle, financial situations…yeah, but I also see an increase in my spiritual walk and strength; fulfillment of long ago spoken prophetic words, travel to foreign lands to preach the Gospel of the grace of God, expansion of ministry, more souls saved, bodies healed, people being freed from demonic oppressions and possessions; a deeper, closer more profound walk with God, manifestations of the Spirit, deeper and more meaningful service as a bishop…wow, the tops of the mountains look great!

The Truth Shall Make You Free!

A very good friend of mine, a man of God and a caring Pastor from my former hometown submitted and sent me a copy of his newsletter, which I have copied below in its entirety. Recent news events have raised concerns…ongoing concerns and questions about Islam, the Quran, and the faith of some 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.
Now whether they are moderate or radical Muslims can be argued until the proverbial cow leaves Texas but Islam is without a doubt not a religion of peace as our political leaders and a few “questionable” Christian leaders would have you believe, nor is the Quran the Word of God for Allah is not the God of the Holy Bible.
When Muslims say that God (Allah) had no son, they are right! Allah is a false god...in fact the moon god and he did not and cannot have offspring in the same sense, purpose or reason as the God of the Bible, Yawveh (El Elyon, Jehovah) has a Son, who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now before you judge, do the research…do the study…compare the Quran with the Bible...compare what the Quran says about Jesus with what the Bible says about Jesus and tell me what you find. Read my friends article and write him too. We both invite you to do so and will freely speak with you on the subject matter. My friends email is included in his article, and my email is: bcovenantf@yahoo.com

THE PASTOR WHO WOULD NOT
Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Church in Gainesville, Florida either was a prankster or desired international attention. Well he got what he wanted but left much to be desired. His idea of burning the Koran got a lot of people upset and uneasy. Christians, the Military, the Secretary of Defense, the Pentagon, President of the US and of course Muslims. Now I wonder why that is such a big deal for an American to exercise freedom of expression. After all he did not say burn people only their book. For you politically correct junkies was Pastor Jones’ First Amendments trampled upon because of political reasons? Are the powers in Washington, DC at Pennsylvania Avenue practicing double standards when it comes to Christianity vs. Islam? As long as his group would have met in a peaceful manner and ONLY burned the book – does the first amendment afford that freedom in America? Remember, this is not the Middle East – this is America. Congress ratified the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights in 1789 giving Americans certain freedoms and rights you will not find in far Eastern countries. It is a crime for men to publicly whip women and equally a crime to have more than one wife (so far). But convert to Islam and move to the far East and those practices are widely accepted.

THE KORAN THAT CONTRADICTS
But have you read the Koran lately? The Holy Koran admittedly commands the Muslim to "fight," "hate" and do not be "friends" with Christians and Jews. Certain Surah translated by the Arabic scholar Abdullah Yusuf Ali in Surah 5:14, 5:51, 8:12 and 9:12-14. These are all Surah (and many more) that do not sound like a loving Allah but more of a wrathful one commanding his disciples to kill and disassociate with ANYONE who does not believe. Whoever does not believe that Muhammad is Allah’s last prophet and whoever does not believe that Allah (the all merciful, the compassionate, the beneficent) are enemies of Islam and deserve to die.
If you take the Holy Koran and place it side by side with the Holy Bible and had the time to conduct a comparative analysis you would discover many contradictions – not in doctrinal beliefs in each book – but in opposition of each book. For instance fight, hate and do not be friends contradict the words of Jesus Christ in the following verses:
“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God . . . Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” Matthew 5:9, 11
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven, for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Matthew 5:44-46 Your comments are welcomed and encouraged as long as they are factual and Biblical. Personal feelings and personal beliefs will be discarded and deleted. You may contact me at TimothyJD@verizon.net or on Facebook under Timothy Durden. Be sure to view my 101 Biblical Words facebook page and leave your comment. These verses alone are a clear contradiction of the Holy Koran and yet many Christian teachers and political leaders would have you to believe that Allah and the God of the Bible are the same. I seriously doubt they are the same and I declare the God of the Bible to be the One, True, Only Living God – all the other gods are false – they are all dead!
And as far as the hypocrisy of America and the military check this out:

BURNING THE BIBLE
The question should be asked has that ever happened in the history of Christianity? You are a misinformed Christian if you do not think Bibles have been burned before. But the question would be – where Bibles burned by Muslims? Here is your answer:
AP June 18, 2007
Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza’s Latin Church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent that are part of the Gaza Strip’s small Romany Catholic community. He told the AP that crosses were broken, damage was done to a statue of Jesus, and at the Rosary Sister School and nearby convent, and prayer books were burned.

Gummen used the roof of the school during the fighting, and the convent was “desecrated,” Mussalem told the AP “Nothing happens by mistake these days,” he said. Father Mussalam additionally told the Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.
And another of most recent times:
(CNN) -- Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans, a Defense Department spokesman said Tuesday.
Afghan workers enter a walkway on March 3, 2009, at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
The unsolicited Bibles sent by a church in the United States were confiscated about a year ago at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan because military rules forbid troops of any religion from proselytizing while deployed there, Lt. Col. Mark Wright said.
Such religious outreach can endanger American troops and civilians in the devoutly Muslim nation, Wright said.
"The decision was made that it was a 'force protection' measure to throw them away, because, if they did get out, it could be perceived by Afghans that the U.S. government or the U.S. military was trying to convert Muslims," Wright told CNN on Tuesday. Your comments are welcomed and encouraged as long as they are factual and Biblical. Personal feelings and personal beliefs will be discarded and deleted. You may contact me at TimothyJD@verizon.net or on Facebook under Timothy Durden. Be sure to view my 101 Biblical Words facebook page and leave your comment.

Today, Christian Broadcasting's David Brody says "the Bibles were burned because the rules on the base say that all garbage is burned at the end of the day. But just asking here; if the U.S. Military seized a stack full of Korans, would they be burned? You think that might cause a little outrage in the Muslim world?"
Yikes!

And finally take a gander at this broadcast from CNN:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOV4jM0_6BI

The United States Military treated Bibles as “trash” because the Military burns its trash everyday and since the Bibles were not returned to the United States they were burned. And you wonder why Pastor Tim calls the government and the “system” corrupt.

The Encouragement of a Friend

It’s been a while. Like the whole summer that I haven’t entered anything on this blog, or did my radio broadcast on Blog Talk Radio, or updated my ministry website. Why? I’m glad you asked. Even church and ministry leaders get discouraged and need encouragement. But where do they go, or should it may be said, to whom do they go when their down?

Some days ago I wrote about the Encouragement of a Son. My son encouraged me when he and his family where were visiting over the summer. I needed that encouragement, was blessed by it and began to make preparations to return to the blog, the radio show and seeking means of doing prison ministry. Then “bam” I was let down again, disappointed once more, frustrated with religious folks and generally turned off.
And so for another few weeks I drug around with my head down…forgetting my son’s encouraging words, never minding the fact that he was listening, watching, waiting to hear a Word. Then after some weeks I got a letter from a old friend, a friend who should be walking around all the time with his head down…discouraged, disappointed, frustrated, but he is not!

Why? I’m glad you asked. You see my friend is incarcerated behind prison walls for his participation in a crime some 35 years ago. He is known by the title “lifer” in the prison system, went to jail at 15 years old and he just turned 51. This man has served Christ longer than some of you have been alive…I say some of you for I am his age.

He’s in jail you say? For a crime…well then that is where he should be. Yeah, but he has seen other men commit worse, far worse offenses that he did do their 10-20, or 15-25 and get out…only to re-offend, commit a more heinous act come back do that bit and get out again. Screwed up system that punishes a person for life because they couldn’t afford a high price lawyer, or there from the inner city but allows “others” to keep on doing crimes and receiving no punishment
Well this man, my friend wrote me a letter from prison…wrote and told me how blessed he was to hear a Word from many years past…wrote and told me my son was not the only one person who heard, whose faith had grew, and that there were many others…many who we will not know of or hear of on this side of glory who are somewhere listening, watching, waiting.

My son and my friend…wow…who could ask for anything better!

The Encouragement of a Son

My married son was in town with his wife and kids recently. Wow, just to say that in and by itself shows the years that has went by since his birth, baseball and football games, schooling, graduation and now marriage. He has grown into a handsome, fine young man with dreams and aspirations and has two beautiful children..wow, I am a grandfather twice over!

The most important "acheivement" that my son has completed is that some years ago he made Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of his life. He accepted Christ through my ministry and grew up in the "grace and knowledge" of our Lord Jesus Christ in the two churches I lead and countless small group meetings and Bible studies. I married he and his bride in June and now they are preparing to move to Georgia.

With all that being said, it was this same son, who on that recent visit I mentioned above that encouraged me in this ministry to keep broadcasting the teachings and revelations God has shown me through Internet radio and this blog medium. He told me that he listens or listened to the broadcast and follows the blog, not just because its "dad" but because he is being ministered too.

I must admit, for the past month or so I haven't done the radio broadcasts or entered anything on the blog. Disappointed, discouraged, frustrated...yeah that was me. Why do it, I asked? Who is listening, who is reading? Nobody out there knows me..not a household word, not a name brand. Well, that maybe true...but there is a son out there that is listening and reading and being blessed and being ministered too. He is continuing to grow in the knowledge of Christ and His Word, he is changing his seen and shaping his unseen, he is setting his and his families eternal destiny...all because of listening and reading the rantings of this old preacher.

That and that alone, as I wipe the tears from my eyes, is a good reason to go on!

Round 2!

Well I've been off for awhile. Some two weeks after taking a "leave of absence" for my son's wedding and just to un-wind, I will be blogging again. The wedding was great! I believe both my son and new daughter will make a fine couple and be an example to many young folk on waiting for the "right" one and the blessings of marriage.

So here we go again! Please keep me in your prayers as we shall endeavor to share, comment, and hopefully impart true through the medium of the Internet. In addition to my blog you can catch my Internet radio broadcasts "The Blood Speaks" on Talkshoe (http://www.talkshoe.com)Monday's from 10:15 to 10:45 A.M. and BlogTalk Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com) Tuesday's from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. Also check out my website at http://speakingthewordoffaith.weebly.com

Vacation?

I am taking a "vacation" from the blog this week..really just haven't posted anything last Monday, and may not next Monday June 14 because I will be returning from Pennsylvania and the wedding celebration of my son, my only begotten son, Benjamin and his lovely bride Ms. Johneane Latham.

I will have the honor of uniting them in covenant, not just marriage. It is sad and very unfortunate that the covenant relationship of joining a man (Ish) with his wife (Isha) has been so degraded into what is now called the "institution" of marriage, or perceived as a contract or business arrangement..it is a shame!

The LORD God created marriage and the covenant relationship between man and woman based on the God kind of love He gave man when He created them, male and female. Even by the time of Christ, the covenant of marriage was in trouble...Christ said that Moses had given the "bill of divorcement", but from the beginning this was not so.

I have taught my son the meaning of covenant and marriage; I will continue now sharing that with him and his wife. It is my prayer that as he sees how I walk in covenant with my "Isha" Carol, the apple of my eye, that he duplicates and actually perfects this union evermore. If the Lord tarry, what and how he walks will carry on to the next generations!

Peace.

2012: The Final Call 3

Two weeks ago we began “blogging” about the Mayan prophecy of 2012 being the year when the world would end. We placed the Mayan prediction against the Word of God and began to examine what the Bible has to say, and has said about the end of the world. As stated last time, I have yet to see the 2012 movie, but believe that any “prophecy” outside the Word of God is suspect and/or questionable at the least and at the worse a flat out lie. The Apostle John, who among all of the New Testament writers and many of the Old Testament could be argued that he knew a thing or two about prophecy, writes to us to beware or be aware of false prophets saying that many of them had gone out into the world…even in his time…some 2000years ago.
The Apostle John was the writer of the book of Revelation, or as it is called in some old Bible’s, the Apocalypse! As he opens the book, John says that the “revelation” of Jesus Christ was given unto Him by God to show unto His servant’s things which must shortly come to pass. We know the true test of any prophet, prophecy, word, message, etc. if it is from God it will come to pass…exactly at the time, exactly in the place, and exactly with the person, or persons it was spoken of or too. The 200 plus prophecies concerning the First Advent of Jesus Christ came to pass right down to the Virgin Birth, the town He was born in, the house He belonged to, the tribe He came from, etc.
The Lord Himself gives us some very definite pre-cursors and signs of the end times. From the Synoptic Gospel’s of Matthew, Mark, and Luke we can list:
1. Deception
2. False Christ’s
3. Wars and the rumors of wars
4. Riots/Violence/Uprisings
5. Famines
6. Pestilences
7. Earthquakes
8. Distress of nations
9. Troubles
10. Fearful signs on earth/great signs in heaven
11. Afflictions
12. Persecutions
13. Hatred of Christians
14. Offenses by Christians on Christians
15. False Prophets
16. Iniquity abounding/love of many going cold
17. Gospel preached/published into all the world
18. The Abomination of Desolation

More to come...

2012: The Final Call?

According to Hollywood and the Mayan calendar the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012. Wow, if that is true we have a little over a year to get prepared. Now let me state that I do not believe the world will end in 2012. But let's say for the sake of argument that their right and I, and the Bible, are wrong. What should we be doing now to prepare for such a catastropic event? Why aren't there plans to get off the planet, or build higer stronger structures that could withstand earthquakes? I mean, if we knew in advance that such an event like 9-11 would happen say a year or two before, couldn't we or wouldn't we be prepared before it?

I haven't seen the novie 2012 yet, so I don't know the story line, but in other "disaster' movies there was always a cause for the world coming to an end. Whether it was space invaders, asteroids, cyborgs, or man causing harm to the planet and the planet finally getting us back there was a cause to the effect.

So, where is the cause to 2012? Mayan prophecy you say..hmm well why belive Mayan prophecy over say Bible prophecy? It seems to me that the Bible and the prophets of the Bible knew far more, and hit the "prophetic" mark far more accurately than most any of the other so called "prophets" from other religions and/or other cultures.

The Bible does indeed tell of the world coming to an end, and the earth being destroyed. Notice I said, the world and then the earth. The "world" that comes to an end first is the world system, that ancient Babylonian system that has under its umbrella all politics, commerece, religion, government, etc. outside of the Word of God and true Biblical Christianity.

More to come.....

The Purpose, the Passion, and the Promise

Welcome! Since this is my first attempt at "blogging", I hope it all makes sense to the reader and receiver of it.

One may ask, why are we here? Well, over the past 30+ years of ministry I have seen a steady and now faster decrease in what the Bible calls "sound doctrine". Some of the teaching that the believer is subjected to in most of or churches and ministries border on the heretical; it simply and plainly is not the teaching of the "faith which was once delivered unto the saints".

So, we are here to simly and plainly speak, teach, preach, write, blog, and deliver that faith, that message which the Apostle John said that "we have heard of Him, and declare we unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all". Here in 1 John 1:5, the Apostle reveals just one of the unseen forces of God. The Bible, which is the Word of God. declares that God is light, God is love, God is life, and our God is a consuming fire!

Well, if God is light and in Him is no darkness at all...then it follows that God is love and in Him is no hatred at all, and God is life and in Him is no death at all, Praise God! So, again we are here for a "purpose"; to declare unto you the believer and to all the principalities, power, rulers of the darkness of this world, and the wicked spirits in heavenly places the unadulterated, uncompromised, inerrant Word of the Living God. Our "passion" is to proclaim by every means necessary and over every avaiable voice the Word of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the revelation of the Blood Covenant. And the "promise" is as long as God gives strength, life, health and breath we shall indeed proclaim, publish, and testify of the goodness of God and the revelation of Jesus Christ!
