2012: The Final Call 3

Two weeks ago we began “blogging” about the Mayan prophecy of 2012 being the year when the world would end. We placed the Mayan prediction against the Word of God and began to examine what the Bible has to say, and has said about the end of the world. As stated last time, I have yet to see the 2012 movie, but believe that any “prophecy” outside the Word of God is suspect and/or questionable at the least and at the worse a flat out lie. The Apostle John, who among all of the New Testament writers and many of the Old Testament could be argued that he knew a thing or two about prophecy, writes to us to beware or be aware of false prophets saying that many of them had gone out into the world…even in his time…some 2000years ago.
The Apostle John was the writer of the book of Revelation, or as it is called in some old Bible’s, the Apocalypse! As he opens the book, John says that the “revelation” of Jesus Christ was given unto Him by God to show unto His servant’s things which must shortly come to pass. We know the true test of any prophet, prophecy, word, message, etc. if it is from God it will come to pass…exactly at the time, exactly in the place, and exactly with the person, or persons it was spoken of or too. The 200 plus prophecies concerning the First Advent of Jesus Christ came to pass right down to the Virgin Birth, the town He was born in, the house He belonged to, the tribe He came from, etc.
The Lord Himself gives us some very definite pre-cursors and signs of the end times. From the Synoptic Gospel’s of Matthew, Mark, and Luke we can list:
1. Deception
2. False Christ’s
3. Wars and the rumors of wars
4. Riots/Violence/Uprisings
5. Famines
6. Pestilences
7. Earthquakes
8. Distress of nations
9. Troubles
10. Fearful signs on earth/great signs in heaven
11. Afflictions
12. Persecutions
13. Hatred of Christians
14. Offenses by Christians on Christians
15. False Prophets
16. Iniquity abounding/love of many going cold
17. Gospel preached/published into all the world
18. The Abomination of Desolation

More to come...
